Meadow

John Dolan Russell: "Born from meditation this place came into focus. It is my refuge and all loved ones are welcome there, and they often visit. The animals guard the perimeter, keeping enemies at bay. My strength comes from here, my loved ones, my closest, my imagination."

All my friends and I are gathered in this place
Grass is under foot and sunshine's warm embrace
With the puma and the wolf the spiders and snakes
Guarding our good times and trying times in spades

There is nothing that I need
'cept your angel arms on me
There is nothing I desire
Inside me burns your fire

All my friends and I have been together longer than the world
Out of frozen fire thawed out I built us this meadow
And it's safe in here most times a peaceful runnin' stream
Under the willow tree you'll find me a perpetual green dream

There is nothing that I need
'cept your warm and glowing face
There is nothing I desire
'cause your love just takes me higher
There is no where I can run
Where I'd better see the sun
There is no place I can hide
Where you couldn't come inside

I built this place of safety hoping it would save me
I built this place of comfort to satiate my hunger
I built this place to hideout protected from the fallout
I built this place to sanctify so come on in my friend
Come on in my trusted friend

My friends and I we dance around the giant willow tree is sound
And you can come in with a heart that's pure and bright and full of love
